RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Planning Commission is inviting residents to take part in a series of open house workshops aimed at gathering public input for the county’s Comprehensive Plan Update.
Three workshops will be held across the county in early June.
Designed to fit busy schedules, the events will follow an open-house format with no formal presentations.
Attendees can stop by at any time during the scheduled hours to share ideas, raise concerns, and help outline a vision for the future of Raleigh County.
Each location will feature topic-specific stations to make it easy for residents to provide targeted input.
Workshop Schedule:
- Monday, June 2, 4:00–5:30 PM – Liberty High School, 700 Coal River Road, Glen Daniel
- Monday, June 2, 6:00–7:30 PM – Raleigh County Courthouse (2nd Floor Conference Room), 215 Main Street, Beckley
- Tuesday, June 3, 5:30–7:00 PM – Shady Spring High School, 300 Hinton Road, Shady Spring
The Comprehensive Plan Update will guide Raleigh County’s future development and investments.
Since the county includes a diverse mix of communities, public participation is key to ensuring the plan reflects the needs and priorities of all stakeholders.
The update process is being led by the Land Use and Sustainable Development Law Clinic at the West Virginia University College of Law.
