CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Raleigh County man has been arrested after stealing a car title and $10,000 worth of collectible coins.
According to a criminal complaint, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 3:49 PM, police were dispatched to a residence on Kanawha Blvd West in Charleston, following a report of stolen goods from a parked Buick sedan.
Upon arrival, the victim informed officers that $10,000 worth of collectible coins and the title to his 2000 model Buick sedan had been taken.
The victim identified the suspect only by the alias “Country.”
Later, in a separate incident, police encountered individuals who mentioned “Country” and noted that he was planning to leave the state soon in a newly acquired 2000 model Buick.
The individuals confirmed that “Country” was last seen with the title of this Buick.
“Country” was identified as 38-year-old Aaron Simmons of Lester. He was also recently arrested in connection to a previous robbery incident in Charleston.
When officers later apprehended the suspect, a search conducted incident to the arrest revealed the stolen collectible coins and the Buick’s title, which was registered to the victim.
Simmons was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny. He is currently out on bond.
