Raleigh County man charged with sexual assault after an incident with a child

COOL RIDGE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Cool Ridge man faces charges of sexual assault after he had sexual intercourse with an underage minor.

According to Raleigh County deputies, on May 24, 2022, the parents found sexual messages on their child’s phone with a guy named Michael David Fugitt.  Fugitt is 46, from the Cool Ridge area.  The child told deputies that oral sex had been performed in Fugitt’s car.  When deputies spoke to Fugitt, he admitted that the sexual acts occurred between January of this year and May 24, 2022.

Fugitt is charged with third-degree sexual assault. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 25,000 dollar bond.
