BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Beckley man was sentenced Tuesday to seven years and 11 months in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine, followed by three years of supervised release.
Leondus Whittenburg, 43, sold 320 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant on December 6, 2023, in the parking lot of a Beckley business near Eisenhower Drive, according to court records.

Whittenburg has a criminal history that includes multiple prior felony convictions, including previous drug trafficking offenses in the Southern District of West Virginia.
Whittenburg is one of four defendants in the case. Phillip Gray, 42, and John Gray, 39, both of Oak Hill, and Daemien Thompson, 39, also pleaded guilty to methamphetamine-related charges and are scheduled for sentencing later this month.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa G. Johnston praised the investigative efforts of the FBI, ATF, West Virginia State Police, and the Central Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
Chief U.S. District Judge Frank W. Volk imposed the sentence, with the case prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian D. Parsons and former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew D. Isabell.
