BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority (RCPRA) is thrilled to announce the official “revamping” of our Storybook Walk! To celebrate Read Across America Week, we invite families, educators, and nature lovers to join us for this interactive outdoor experience on March 5th at 10:00 AM.
This year’s celebration is particularly special as we debut a brand-new featured book: “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” adapted and illustrated by Christopher Canyon. Based on the iconic song, this beautifully illustrated book takes readers on a visual journey through our Appalachian heritage.
The revamped Storybook Walk is designed to promote reading while encouraging physical activity. By combining the joy of reading with the natural beauty of our local parks, the RCPRA aims to provide a unique learning environment that celebrates West Virginia’s culture for Read Across America Week.
