BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Staff at Raleigh General Hospital recently came together to help a hospitalized father take part in one of the most important moments of his daughter’s life.
According to the hospital, the father was admitted before his daughter’s wedding, prompting employees from multiple departments to work together to transform his patient room into a wedding venue so he could walk his daughter down the aisle.
The hospital said the father was able to share the milestone surrounded by family, creating what staff described as an unforgettable moment despite his hospitalization.
The effort involved employees from across the hospital, including leadership, nursing staff, imaging personnel, nutritional services and others who helped prepare the room and support the family during the ceremony.
Hospital officials said they were honored to be part of the family’s special day and thanked everyone who helped make the event possible.
“Some moments remind us why we do what we do,” the hospital said in a social media post. “While we can’t change every diagnosis, we can help make moments like these possible.”
The hospital also thanked the family for allowing staff to be part of the wedding and wished the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness while keeping the family in their thoughts.
