RAVENCLIFF, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Ravencliff woman was arrested Sunday evening after police say she assaulted another woman during a domestic dispute and was later found with multiple controlled substances in her possession.
According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers were dispatched to a home in Ravencliff around 4:20 p.m. on August 31, 2025, for a reported domestic incident. The victim told troopers that Shawn Barnett came to her residence, accused her of electrocuting her, and appeared intoxicated. Barnett allegedly struck the victim in the face with her fist before leaving for her own residence nearby.
When troopers arrived at Barnett’s home, they reported smelling marijuana. Barnett came outside, accusing the victim of “killing her” and stealing money. Troopers said she appeared impaired. Barnett admitted to having marijuana and handed over a rolled piece of paper containing a green leafy substance.
Upon further questioning, Barnett produced a baggy from her clothing that contained an unopened Suboxone packet, a Gabapentin tablet, and a sublingual tablet identified as Subutex—all controlled substances.
Barnett was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Jesse Detachment for processing, and the seized drugs were logged into evidence.
