The Greenbrier East girls have dominated Region 3 all season on the cross country trails and Thursday evening was more of the same for the Spartans.
Placing all five scoring runners in the top seven finishers, Greenbrier East topped second place Woodrow Wilson by nearly 50 points.
The Flying Eagles, along with third place St. Albans and Greenbrier East will now compete in the state meet Nov. 2 at Cabell Midland High School.
Greenbrier East sophomore standout Neena McClintic repeated as the regional champion nearly one minute faster than Ava Mitias from George Washington.
The remaining Spartans, Luella Mansheim, Kate Adkins, Jillian Styles and Maddie Lilly finished fourth through seventh, respectively.
Leah White led Woodrow Wilson in eighth place, while Ava Thomas was 12th. Zi’Meng Wren finished 14th along with Sofi White in 16th place and Taylor Murdock in 21st place.
Area runners that qualified individually included Asia Collins (10) and Jaycee Pritchett (13) from Princeton, as well as Clara Swank (11) and Leila Smith (15) from Oak Hill.
On the boys side,the race was a tight battle with the top three teams separated by just eight points.
George Washington won the regional title with 50 points, followed by Woodrow Wilson with 55 points and Greenbrier East tallied 58 points. All three teams will run at the state meet in Ona.
Kyle Peters (3), Vance Lindley (4) and Drew Breeden (9) were all inside the top-10 for the Flying Eagles. Ethan Houck (25) and Alex Mullins (28) rounded out the scoring for Woodrow.
Jackson Carter paced the Spartans in sixth place, followed by Robby White (11), Grayson Adams (13), Kadom Broihier (16) and Kalem Mahon (20).
Zachary Neal from Princeton qualified as an individual finishing seventh Thursday along with Caleb Carver from Oak Hill who ran 14th overall.
