MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One of the candidates reported to be in the top slate of choices for the next head coach of the Mountaineers is no longer in the mix.
According to multiple reports Monday evening, Penn State Offensive Coordinator Andy Kotelnicki is no longer in the running for head coach.
Kotelnicki seemed to confirm those reports in a post on X Monday evening:
“Beyond lucky to be a part of the Penn State Football Family. Still a lot to accomplish this season and I am looking forward to what 2025 has in store for our program! #WeAre”
It was widely reported that Kotelnicki had already been interviewed for the job and was among the top candidates.
WVU Athletic Director Wren Baker has been very quiet regarding the search with little to no information being released.
A timeline on when a new coach will be selected has not yet been announced by Baker.
Jacksonville State HC Rich Rodriguez is still rumored to be among the leading candidates.
