BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The opening of the newest Beckley Goodwill location has been the subject of much local excitement, culminating on Friday by way of a ribbon-cutting event with the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce.
The ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration was initially scheduled to be held alongside the opening of the retail establishment on Thursday morning. However, power issues impacting the store during the early hours on Thursday resulted in the postponement of the event to Friday.
The Thursday opening itself went ahead as planned, attracting waves of local residents who made their way out to have a look at the merchandise at the new location.
Friday morning saw the presentation of the ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony originally planned for Friday. Local officials and Goodwill staff were on-hand, as was representative from the office of U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, Alex Hewitt.
Hewitt delivered remarks on behalf of the senator, noting the economic advantage provided to local areas by businesses such as Goodwill.
The new Goodwill location can be found at 4283 Robert C. Byrd Drive in Beckley, a short distance from the establishment’s previous Appalachian Drive location.
