Ridin 4 A Cure Foundation Names Crystal Cook Executive Director

PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — Ridin 4 A Cure Foundation is pleased to announce Crystal Cook as its new Executive Director, marking an exciting new chapter for the faith-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting women and families impacted by breast cancer.

Ridin 4 A Cure Foundation provides meaningful assistance to women throughout their cancer journey, including transportation to and from cancer treatments, wigs for women experiencing hair loss, and access to screenings that promote early detection. At the heart of the organization is a commitment to ensuring women facing breast cancer know they do not have to walk the journey alone.

Cook brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, community engagement, relationship building, and event development. Most recently, she served as Director of Development – School Engagement for the American Heart Association. She previously spent five years with the Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College Foundation, where she helped develop fundraising initiatives, scholarships, community partnerships, and donor relationships.

A graduate of Leadership West Virginia and Leadership Logan, Cook has also devoted years to serving West Virginia through numerous community organizations and initiatives.

“Coming home to Southern West Virginia and having the opportunity to lead an organization with a mission this meaningful is incredibly special to me,” said Cook. “I have always believed my purpose is to connect people’s passion with a purpose, and I truly believe God has led me to Ridin 4 A Cure. I am excited to honor the foundation’s history while building new relationships, expanding our reach, and helping even more women know they are supported, loved, and never alone in their fight.”

Ridin 4 A Cure was founded by Dr. Randy Maxwell in honor of his late wife, whose vision of helping others began even before her own cancer diagnosis. Following her passing, Maxwell continued that vision by building a foundation dedicated to serving women facing the same battle.

“This foundation began with my wife’s vision of helping others,” said Maxwell, President and Founder of Ridin 4 A Cure. “As we begin this next chapter, I believe Crystal has the heart, faith, and passion to help us grow that vision and reach even more women. I know my wife would be proud.”

Board Chair Ryan Parks shared his enthusiasm for Cook’s leadership.

“I’m excited to welcome Crystal Cook as Executive Director of Ridin 4 A Cure. Crystal has a heart for people, a passion for our mission, and the leadership to help take this organization into its next chapter. I have tremendous confidence in her, and I’m excited about what’s ahead for Ridin 4 A Cure.”

Dr. Brad Lane, a Ridin 4 A Cure board member and fellow Leadership West Virginia graduate, echoed that confidence.

“I’ve known Crystal Cook since our time together at Leadership WV, and I’ve seen firsthand the dedication and passion she brings to helping others. She is exactly the kind of leader Ridin 4 A Cure needs, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome her as our Executive Director.”

As Executive Director, Cook plans to focus on expanding Ridin 4 A Cure’s visibility and reach, strengthening partnerships throughout West Virginia, growing fundraising and grant opportunities, and developing relationships with businesses, healthcare organizations, donors, and communities that share the foundation’s commitment to supporting women affected by breast cancer.

Ridin 4 A Cure Announces October Event

As part of this next chapter, Ridin 4 A Cure is also preparing for a special event this October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event will bring together supporters, survivors, community partners, and friends of the foundation while raising awareness and support for Ridin 4 A Cure’s mission.

“This October will give us an opportunity not only to raise funds, but to bring people together around the women and families we serve,” Cook said. “We want this event to celebrate survivors, honor those we have lost, and remind every woman fighting breast cancer that there is a community standing beside her.”

Additional event details, including the date, location, sponsorship opportunities, and ways to participate, will be announced soon.
