The Biblical story of Samson paints a picture of a man who was given immense strength to aide him against his enemies and allow him to perform super-human feats including killing a lion with his bare hands and killing an entire army of Phillstines using only the jawbone of a donkey.
This Samson’s strength lies in his community. Samson was found on the side of the road by a good samaritan in late November and his story has been nothing short of “superhuman” ever since. Samson was shot in the face by a heartless, vile human and the community needs your help to bring that person to justice. According to the Facebook page, PigPig of St. Albans, a reward of $500.00 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of Samson’s shooter by Christmas Day. Samson has had a long recovery of multiple surgeries since he was rescued from sure death and taken to Good Shepherd Veterinary Hospital. Local businesses and animal lovers pooled together thousands of dollars to save Samson and pay for his medical care.  A local resident, Stephanie Paynter shares her thoughts on the situation by saying,
“There is a state-wide crisis going on right now, not just for humans, but for our animals, as well. Animal rescues and shelters are overwhelmed, understaffed and underfunded. They are well over their maximum capacity with no relief in sight. We have laws in place to protect animals like Samson, but we need to start pushing to have them enforced. It’s up to us to be the voice of those who don’t have one.”
Samson has been rescued by Saving Snouts Rescue and they continue to update us on his miraculous progress.
