ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Investigations with the WV State Fire Marshal’s Office have arrested the owner of an Elkins trucking company on charges that he started a fire at his company last year.
Jason B. Collins, 43, of Elkins, was arrested by the WVSFMO in Elkins on Wednesday, after an extensive 13-month investigation by the WVSFMO and the WV State Police.
Collins is charged in connection with the May 25, 2020, fire at his business. Anytime Trucking Company, at 92 Apache Dr. in Elkins. The early morning caused an estimated $60,000 in damages.
Collins is charged with one count of first-degree arson, three counts of third-degree arson, one count of burning insured property, and one count of conspiracy. He is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 cash-only bond at the Tygart Vally Regional Jail.
A former employee of the trucking company is also charged with arson in the case. Elwood “Lynn” Hebb was arrested last week and is currently held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
