ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Investigations with the WV State Fire Marshal’s Office have arrested the owner of an Elkins trucking company on charges that he started a fire at his company last year.
Jason B. Collins, 43, of Elkins, was arrested by the WVSFMO in Elkins on Wednesday, after an extensive 13-month investigation by the WVSFMO and the WV State Police.
Collins is charged in connection with the May 25, 2020, fire at his business. Â Anytime Trucking Company, at 92 Apache Dr. in Elkins. The early morning caused an estimated $60,000 in damages.
Collins is charged with one count of first-degree arson, three counts of third-degree arson, one count of burning insured property, and one count of conspiracy. Â He is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 cash-only bond at the Tygart Vally Regional Jail.
A former employee of the trucking company is also charged with arson in the case. Â Elwood “Lynn” Hebb was arrested last week and is currently held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
