Beckley 11, Greenbrier East 6
Fairlea – Trailing 6-4, Beckley scored seven unanswered runs to defeat longtime rival Greenbrier East 11-6 Thursday in the Class AAA Region 3, Section 2 elimination game at Spartan Yards.
Brady Williams and Maddex Sims each drove in three runs and Gage Price sent home two more to lead the Flying Eagles.
Ty Evans, Chase Tolliver and Price all had two hits in the game, while Tolliver, Brady Williams and Parker Williams each had a double.
Price pitched the last two-and-one-third innings allowing no runs and only one hit to preserve the win.
Zion Detko had three hits and one RBI for the Spartans. Gavin Bennett also drove in two runs for East.
Wyoming East 6, Bluefield 2
New Richmond – Wyoming East scored four runs in the second inning and made it stand in the Class AA Region 3, Section 1 elimination game.
The Warriors will now battle Westside Friday at 6 p.m. in another elimination encounter.
Zach Hunt went the distance to pick up the win, allowing only four hits and striking out 10 Beavers. Hunt also had two hits and drove in two runs.
Gage Cooper had a double and two RBI, while Michael Johnson had a double and a single.
Bryson Redmond and Nate Redmond both has a double for Bluefield.
PikeView 11, Westside 1 (5 innings)
Gardner – Senior Jared Vestal drove in two runs and picked up the win on the mound to lead PikeView past Westside 11-1 Thursday in five innings.
The Panthers advance to the championship round, while Westside will travel to Wyoming East Friday for an elimination game.
Over his five innings, Vestal allowed just two hits and no earned runs. At the plate, he collected a double and single to go along with his two RBI.
Sammy Lyle also hit a double and drove in two runs for the Panthers.
Summers County 3, Greater Beckley 1
Hinton – Summers County scored a pair of runs in the first inning and went on to defeat Greater Beckley Christian 3-1 in Class A Region 3, Section 1 play Thursday.
Ben Lane and Brandan Isaac both singled in the opening frame and eventually stole home for the 2-0 lead.
The final run for the Bobcats came on a solo shot from Jake Boone to center-field in the third.
Jayden Nguyen had two hits for the Crusaders.
Summers County travels to James Monroe Friday, while Greater Beckley will host Mount View in an elimination game Friday.
James Monroe 12, River View 2 (6 innings)
Lindside – After falling behind 2-0 before it took a swing, James Monroe roared back for a six-inning, 12-2 win over River View in Class A Region 3, Section 1 play Thursday.
Cooper Ridgeway was perfect at the dish with four hits, while Peyton Gardinier, Kadyn Hines, Kaden Lowe and Cameron Crislip added two hits each.
Justin Feamster picked the win striking out 12 over six innings.
Andrew Addair drove in two runs for the Raiders and Gabe Lester had two hits.
James Monroe will host Summers County Friday, while River View hosts Montcalm in an elimination game Friday.
