Midland Trail 10, Greenbrier West 3
Hico – Midland Trail picked up where it left off after Monday’s game against Greenbrier West was suspended, scoring four runs in the bottom of the third to beat West 10-3 Tuesday in Hico.
The game was originally supposed to be played on Monday but the rain forced the umpires to suspend it in the bottom of the third with Trail leading 3-2.
The Patriots took full advantage of West starter Evan McDade being out after hitting his pitch count on Monday, yielding just one run on Tuesday while scoring seven.
Trail will travel to Charleston Catholic on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. showdown. The Patriots will need to beat the Irish twice in order to win the sectional championship.
