CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders will visit West Virginia next month as part of his national “Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here” tour, according to his official website.
Sanders is scheduled to appear at the Charleston Convention Center, located at 200 Civic Center Drive, on Friday, August 8. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m., and the event is set to begin at 6 p.m.

A day earlier, on Thursday, August 7, Sanders will speak at the Capitol Theater in Wheeling. That event will follow the same schedule, with doors opening at 3:30 p.m. and the program starting at 6 p.m.
Organizers say Sanders will focus on issues related to corporate influence in government and concerns over a legislative proposal they call the “Big Beautiful Bill,” which, according to them, could lead to the loss of health insurance for millions and affect federal safety net programs.
Local workers are also expected to speak at both events, addressing labor issues and community efforts across the state.
Attendees are advised to follow venue guidelines, which prohibit signs, flags, weapons, hard water bottles, chairs (except for ADA seating), and large bags. Only small bags, such as fanny packs, will be allowed unless needed for medical purposes.
Free parking will be available at both locations.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP through Senator Sanders’ official website.
