CABELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Seven people were arrested Monday morning after a drug investigation at an apartment complex in Huntington, according to law enforcement.
Authorities said concerned residents alerted the Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force and the Huntington Police Department about suspected drug activity at the Virginia Apartments in the 400 block of 7th Street.
Investigators identified the apartment in question, spoke with the tenant, and obtained a search warrant. During the execution of the warrant, officers seized crack cocaine and other illegal narcotic materials from the apartment.
Seven people were taken into custody:
- David Stapleton, 42, of Huntington, was arrested on an outstanding trespassing warrant. He is being held at Western Regional Jail on a $1,200 cash/surety bond.
- James Lemay, 37, of Huntington, was arrested on an outstanding petit larceny warrant and was released on a personal recognizance bond.
- Braden Matheny, 19, of Salt Rock, was arrested on an outstanding intoxicating substances warrant. He also received a citation from the City of Huntington for possession of drug paraphernalia and was released.
- Scott Crank, 42, of Huntington, was arrested on an outstanding third-offense shoplifting warrant. He is being held at Western Regional Jail on a $10,000 cash/surety bond.
- Zachary Rhodes, 29, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, was arrested on two outstanding warrants for possession of a controlled substance. He is ineligible for bail until being arraigned by a Cabell County Circuit Court judge.
- Brandy Fry, 42, of Huntington, was charged with one misdemeanor count of maintaining a dwelling for drug house purposes. She is being held at Western Regional Jail on a $20,000 cash/surety bond.
- Tracy Pearson, 28, of Barboursville, was charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He is being held at Western Regional Jail on a $34,000 cash/surety bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
