BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Sharon Dempsey Pool at New River is not opening on Thursday, June 18, because of inclement weather.
The closure comes after a morning of dangerous weather across parts of southern West Virginia, including multiple severe thunderstorm warnings, a tornado warning and widespread power outages.
Thousands of customers remain without electricity across the state, including many in Raleigh County, as strong storms moved through the region.
