GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a fatal hit-and-run after a deceased female was discovered early Sunday morning in the Hines area.
Deputies were dispatched around 7:50 a.m. to the scene along U.S. Route 60. Preliminary findings suggest the woman was struck by a vehicle sometime between 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Authorities are asking for the public’s help. If you live along Route 60 between Anjean Road and CCC Road and have surveillance cameras, investigators urge you to check footage from the early morning hours of July 27.
The victim is described as a female wearing a white shirt and black-and-white camouflage-style leggings.
Deputies are also searching for a vehicle of interest: a 2015 Ford Focus that may have sustained front-end damage. The car could be missing its passenger-side mirror, have a broken headlight, or other signs of a recent collision.
Anyone with information or footage is urged to call the Greenbrier County 911 non-emergency line at 304-647-7911 and ask to speak with Deputy Peacock.
Authorities say community cooperation is crucial in helping bring answers and justice in this case.
