BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, along US Route 19, approximately 0.1 mile south of the intersection with Airport Road in the Beaver area of Raleigh County. The checkpoint will be active from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
The initiative aims to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the dangers and consequences of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Law enforcement encourages drivers to take steps to prevent drunk or drug-impaired driving and to report suspected impaired drivers to their local West Virginia State Police Detachment, Crime Stoppers of West Virginia, or other law enforcement agencies.
