PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wood County man faces charges following an incident during which he stabbed his father multiple times at their residence on Thanksgiving.
Wood County court documents indicate that, on Thursday, November 23, 2023, a female caller alerted authorities to a stabbing which had occurred at her Parkersburg residence.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers made contact with both the caller and the victim in the incident, identified as Charles Dwain Robinson in the living room area.
The victim was found sitting in a recliner and suffering from profuse bleeding as the caller held a towel his chest. Officers observed multiple stab wounds, including a large laceration to the forearm indicative of a defensive wound.
The caller identified the perpetrator of the incident as her son, Carl Clayton Robinson, and advised that he was likely in the basement area of the residence and should be considered armed.
Making their way to the basement area, responding officers observed Robinson actively washing blood from his hands. While initially uncooperative with authorities, Robinson was eventually taken into custody.
Detectives responded to the scene once it was secure, observing excessive amounts of blood on the bed of the victim, as well as the recliner where the victim had been seated. A trail of blood could also be seen leading to the basement area where the suspect was discovered earlier.
It was also noted in the criminal complaint documentation that the victim has suffered multiple strokes and suffers from very limited mobility as a result.
Carl Clayton Robinson has been charged with Malicious Assault as a result of this incident.
