WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A son is charged with attempted murder after he stabbed his mother in the head twice.
On August 18, 2024, deputies of the Wood County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Buckner Bend Road in Walker, Wood County, to investigate a domestic situation.
When deputies arrived, a female victim had been stabbed in the head by her son, Charles Clinton Hess IV. The investigation revealed that Hess became enraged when he overheard the victim speaking on the phone. Hess approached the victim with a knife in his hand and stabbed the victim in the head at least two times.
An embedded metal object was removed from the victim’s skull by a doctor at CCMC ER, which appeared to be the top of the knife used in the act.
Hess fled from the scene but was later captured. He was charged with attempted murder.
