BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Commission met for its Regular Session meeting on Tuesday at which a water treatment plant project for the Sophia area was advanced.
Commission members were tasked with consideration of a grant in the amount of $250,000 for the project during Tuesday’s session, a grant for which a motion for approval was seconded, moving the project forward to its next stages.
The treatment plant in question, according to Raleigh County Commission President, Dave Tolliver, would serve a range of areas throughout the county, with service spanning from Coal City all the way to the top of Lilly Mountain.
Tuesday’s session would also see an award grant in the amount of $42,150 approved for administrative fees with regard to the South Sand Branch Road Water Project.
The funds, Tolliver said, would be issued as part of a $50,000 amount which has been set aside for the project specifically.
