BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Boone County man was taken into custody Saturday night after allegedly lying to law enforcement officers during a warrant execution at a home on Baldwin Lane.
Around 9:51 p.m. on April 19, 2025, multiple West Virginia State Troopers, including Trooper M.D. Veres, Trooper First Class A.R. Workman, Trooper First Class C.M. Riggleman, Senior Trooper M.S. Hall, and Trooper R.K. Bower, arrived at the residence on 20 Baldwin Lane to serve a warrant related to an ongoing investigation.
While on the property, officers observed a man, identified as Marty Lee Baldwin, emerging from a nearby wooded area. When asked about the whereabouts of the individual they were searching for, Baldwin initially denied knowing where she was.
Shortly after being detained by Trooper Workman, Baldwin admitted he had lied, stating, “Sorry, I lied,” and revealed the person was hiding in the same wooded area he had just exited.
Troopers then located the individual in the woods and arrested Baldwin for obstruction. The arrest was based on direct observations made by officers during the warrant execution.
The incident occurred in Boone County and remains under investigation.
