SAINT ALBANS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A late-night street racing incident in Kanawha County escalated into a police pursuit Saturday, ending with two crashes and the arrest of two young men, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies reported that at approximately 11 p.m. on Feb. 7, a sheriff’s deputy observed two yellow Chevrolet Camaros traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on MacCorkle Avenue Southwest in Saint Albans.
Authorities said the vehicles appeared to be engaged in street racing.
When the deputy activated emergency lights and siren, both vehicles accelerated and continued westbound through the Winfield Road intersection.

The second vehicle, driven by Caleb Dayle Robinett, 20, of Huntington, continued westbound before crashing into a tree near Browns Creek Road.
Deputies assisting in the pursuit reported detecting signs of alcohol impairment from Wallace. A breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .098, and deputies observed additional signs of impairment during field sobriety tests.
Both individuals were transported to South Central Regional Jail and later arraigned.
Wallace was charged with fleeing while driving under the influence, with bond set at $2,500. Robinett was charged with fleeing with reckless indifference, and his bond was set at $2,000.
