SYLVESTER, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Boone County man is facing charges after a domestic disturbance turned violent Saturday evening in Sylvester.
At approximately 7:44 p.m., Trooper First Class A.R. Workman responded to a complaint at 170 Branham Heights, where a woman reported that her husband, Chester Ray Kirk, had physically assaulted her and threatened her with a firearm for calling 911.
According to the complaint, Kirk was allegedly shoving his wife in the front yard when the call was made. The responding officer made contact with Kirk at the scene and requested that he walk to the patrol vehicle to provide information. However, Kirk became irate and uncooperative.
Trooper Workman, along with Trooper M.D. Vernel, attempted to place Kirk in handcuffs. He reportedly resisted by pulling away and refusing to comply, but was eventually taken to the ground and restrained without further incident.
