MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An 18-year-old teenager was arrested on New Year’s Day after deputies say she attacked her father and stepmother during a disturbance at a home on Browns Ridge Road.
According to Sgt. Addair, deputies were called to the residence around 1 a.m. on January 1 after the stepmother reported that her stepdaughter had woken them from sleep, accused them of hacking her phone, and then became violent.
When deputies arrived, the 18-year-old was seen pacing inside her bedroom. Investigators reported visible injuries on both adults, including a raised knot and bruising on the stepmother’s right cheek and bleeding scratches on the father’s arm and side.
Both told deputies that the teen, identified as Natalie Bailey, had burst into the living room yelling and accusing them of tampering with her phone before striking the stepmother, pulling her hair, dragging her to the ground, and continuing to hit her. The father reported stepping in to restrain Bailey, during which he said she scratched and tried to bite him and kicked both adults.
Deputies said Bailey claimed her parents attacked her, but officers reported finding no injuries consistent with that statement. She was detained and placed in a patrol vehicle while photos and written statements were collected.
Bailey was transported to the sheriff’s department for processing and later charged with two counts of domestic battery. She was then taken to Southern Regional Jail, authorities said.
