MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Saturday, January 20, 2024, at approximately 4:05 pm, Trooper K. S. Little responded to a call in Coalwood, West Virginia and observed Patricia Alger, age 53 of Coalwood, West Virginia to have sustained two gunshot wounds, causing her death.
Ms. Alger was pronounced deceased at the scene by Emergency Medical Services and her body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.
The victim’s son, Franklin Alger III, age 18 of Coalwood, West Virginia was subsequently charged with Murder and transported to the McDowell County Holding Facility in Welch pending arraignment.
This investigation remains active and ongoing.
