FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On January 26 and 27, 2024, The Gaines Estate is set to cast its spell on Fayetteville, West Virginia, as it transforms into an enchanting wizarding school for the much-anticipated Wizarding Weekend. The estate and its picturesque grounds will be adorned with a captivating wizarding school theme while costumed volunteers lead students through immersive classes and magical experiences.
The enchanting festivities kick off on Friday, January 26th, with a magical journey into The Great Feast. Guests are invited to explore the estate’s mystical ambiance and capture memorable moments before the feast begins. At 5 pm, the enchanted lounge will open its doors, serving wizarding appetizers and cocktail potions. The grandeur of The Great Feast commences promptly at 6 pm in the pavilion, where guests will be welcomed by a speech from the esteemed Head Wizard.
As guests indulge in the feast, costumed characters will come to life, mingling through the dining room, and adding an extra touch of magic to the evening. For those with a sweet tooth, the Sweet Shoppe will be open, offering a delectable array of magical treats for purchase (please note that these treats are not included in the ticket price). Additionally, the Yowlery will be open for guests to acquire owls and yowlers for themselves and their loved ones (also not included in the ticket price). The night crescendos with a thrilling battle between good and evil. Guests are encouraged to dress in their most magical attire, bring an open heart, and curious mind. Ticket price includes appetizers, dinner, and dessert. Adults $45 pp. Children 10 and under $22.50 pp. The Great Feast will occur on both January 26th and 27th during Wizarding Weekend. On Saturday, January 27, the magic continues with a Paint & Sip from noon until 2pm in the pavilion. Delve into the dark art of recreating The School of Witchcraft and Wizardry under the guidance of magical artist Mary Arrit. The cost is $45 per person. Guests should call 304-382-7509 to reserve a seat in this dark arts class! Seating limited.
The enchantment continues Saturday, January 27th with The School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 10am – 4pm. $15 per person. Groups, limited to 10 people, will embark on a magical journey starting every 20 minutes. Led by the well-known groundskeeper, students will hear enchanting tales of the estate’s history as they make their way to our disguised castle. Tuition for The School of Witchcraft and Wizardry includes a Magical Herbology class and a Wizarding Defense class. Reservations are required, call 304-382-7509. Additionally, adults will have the exclusive opportunity to attend a Potions class in our enchanted lounge throughout the day. Wizards and witches over the age of 21 are invited to indulge in this magical experience, with potions available separately for purchase.
