BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The LOOTPRESS Pet of the Week is Marco!
Marco recently celebrated his tenth “gotcha day” and is partial to naps, snacks, and snuggles.
According to Marco’s family, he can be found anywhere in the house where a heater is running, and that he maintains his youthful sense of wonder even after ten “gotcha days.”
“His whiskers may be gray but his heart is still young,” they declare.
We would like to thank everyone who made submissions this week, and are excited to congratulate Marco, the LOOTPRESS Pet of the Week in association with the Humane Society of Raleigh County!
We certainly wish we could shine a spotlight on each and every pet nominated, and submissions/resubmissions are always welcomed and encouraged!
Submissions can be made by filling out this brief form.
The Humane Society of Raleigh County is currently offering low-income spay and neuter vouchers.
The vouchers will be available on Saturdays only from 11:00 to 3:00pm, and recipients must be residents of Raleigh County in order to receive a HSRC voucher. Proof of income must also be presented, and vouchers must be filled out in house.
The program will be entirely free for individuals who are currently receiving one of the following:
– Social Security Disability
– Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (SNAP)
– Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
– WV Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
– Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
– Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC)
– Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
– Low Income Veterans Assistance under 38 U.S.C. 2044
Those who do not receive benefits from one of the above qualifying programs may still receive a voucher for a minimum donation of $25.
