BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Theatre West Virginia is excited to launch its new eight-week semester of Theatre Academy, offering immersive performing arts education for students ages 10+. Classes include Acting, Musical Theatre-style Dance, and Vocal training as well as introductory technical courses in Stage Make-Up, Props, and Costume Design–all led by experienced instructors.
“TWV Academy is committed to inspiring and empowering students through theatre,” said Mariah Plante, Theatre West Virginia’s new Academy Coordinator. “We welcome all who are passionate about the stage, and look forward to adding more classes and performance opportunities for artists of all ages, experience levels, and abilities.”
Students will gain valuable skills and performance opportunities throughout the semester, including auditions for Theatre West Virginia’s Summer Youth Production of “Seussical Jr.”.
Tuition is $100 for 8 weeks of 1-hour classes, with additional classes available for $90 each. There will be a showcase performance at the Raleigh Playhouse in Beckley on June 1st that will be open to the public.
