CASS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The small mountain town of Cass came alive over the weekend as more than 3,500 visitors gathered for the 6th Annual Parade of Steam, the largest turnout in the event’s history.
The annual celebration showcases the full roster of historic steam locomotives at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park.
The daylong event on Saturday featured the dramatic display of the vintage trains during the Parade of Steam, a highlight for rail enthusiasts and families alike.
Visitors also enjoyed live performances at the Steam & Strings Music Festival and browsed local vendors at the Arts & Eats Street Fair, which were part of the broader Cass Days festivities.
Organizers credit the success of the event to the collaboration between the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad team, Cass Scenic Railroad State Park staff, Friends of Cass volunteers, and the continued support of rail fans from across the region.
The annual Parade of Steam has become a signature summer tradition, celebrating the region’s deep railroad heritage and drawing thousands to the historic logging town.
