RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Thousands of Appalachian Power customers remain without electricity in Fayette and Raleigh counties Sunday evening as crews work to restore service.
According to the Appalachian Power outage map, 2,649 customers are without power in Fayette County, while another 440 customers are affected in Raleigh County.
In Fayette County, the largest concentration of outages is in the Upper Kanawha Valley, including the communities of Montgomery, Powellton, Boomer, Kanawha Falls and along West Virginia Route 61 from Deepwater to Kincaid. Appalachian Power estimates power will be restored by 7:30 p.m.
In Raleigh County, the largest outage is in the Harper Road area of Beckley, where a fallen tree has disrupted electrical service. Appalachian Power estimates power will be restored by 8 p.m.
