FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Three people were injured Sunday following a two-vehicle crash along WV Route 61 near Dempsey Branch Road, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies said the crash occurred on April 5, 2026, prompting a response from law enforcement and emergency medical services.
Upon arrival, deputies found two drivers and one passenger who had sustained injuries.
All three individuals were transported by EMS to area hospitals. Officials said the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Route 61 was closed for approximately two hours while emergency crews responded to and cleared the scene. The roadway has since reopened to normal traffic.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
