CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia continues to earn national recognition as a top travel destination.
The West Virginia Department of Tourism announced that three of the state’s resorts have been named in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Greenbrier and Stonewall Resort were recognized among the “Best Resorts in the South,” with The Greenbrier earning fourth place and Stonewall Resort coming in fifth.
Snowshoe Mountain also made the list in the “Best Ski Resort” category, ranking among the top 30.
“It’s no surprise that West Virginia continues to be recognized as a top-tier travel destination,” said West Virginia Tourism Secretary Chelsea Ruby.
“These accolades speak to our wonderful partners and all the hard work they’re putting in to promote our great state. West Virginia continues to receive national attention as a can’t-miss travel destination, and as a result, increased visitation, leaving a lasting economic impact. I’m so proud of all we have accomplished, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
The awards are determined by votes from hundreds of thousands of Condé Nast Traveler readers.
In 2025, more than 750,000 U.S. readers shared their opinions across categories such as hotels, resorts, airlines, cruise lines, islands, spas, and ski destinations.
