WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Three Wyoming County schools will remain closed through Friday as cleaning and sanitation efforts continue following recent health concerns, while all other schools in the county will reopen Wednesday.
Mullens Elementary and Middle School, Wyoming East High School and Westside High School will remain closed through Friday, according to an update Tuesday from the Wyoming County Board of Education.
ServPro will continue cleaning and sanitizing the three schools. School officials said they are also continuing to work with the Wyoming County Health Department.
All other Wyoming County schools are expected to return to regular operations Wednesday.
Extracurricular activities may also resume Wednesday at schools that are reopening, as long as those activities are not being held at Wyoming East or Westside. All extracurricular activities involving or taking place at Wyoming East and Westside remain suspended.
School officials said the goal is to reopen all schools and resume normal operations Monday. That will depend on satisfactory air quality assessments, completion of ServPro’s cleaning and sanitation work and clearance from the Wyoming County Health Department.
Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available. Questions can be directed to the Wyoming County Schools Central Office at 304-732-6262.
