Shady Spring took home the victory in a four-team match Thursday on The Cobb Course at The Resort at Glade Springs.
Freshman Grant Winkler led the Tigers (106) with a three-under par round of 33. Juniors Tyler Beard and Cooper ward rounded out the team scoring for Shady Spring will solid rounds of 36 and 37, respectively.
Tyler Stover paced the Flying Eagles (134) with a 39 and Xavier Honaker had the low round for Summers County (143) with a 41. Tyler Scott shot 43 to lead the Red Devils (138).

Fairlea – Greenbrier East swept a tri-match with PikeView and Princeton Thursday inside Spartan Gym. Veteran head coach Matt Sauvage earned his 600th win with the victories.
Alexis Stack and Mollie Pack provided the power at the nest with 21 and 17 kills, respectively. Mackenna McClure served up 36 assists, while Pack and Regan Rink each had seven aces.
Hailey Ervin paced the back row with 21 receptions and 24 digs.

Shady Spring knocked off Wayne and Independence 2-0 Thursday giving the Tigers four wins in a row.
Alivia Stover had seven kills and two total blocks for Shady Spring against county rival Independence, while Reagan Mann had 13 assists and eight aces. Kenidi Creager collected eight digs and had nine receptions on the back line.
In the hotly contest match with Wayne, Stover had nine kills, while Reagan Mann dropped six winners and Allie Fragile had five kills. Creager finished with 13 digs and nine receptions. Reagan Mann added nine digs and seven receptions to go along with 17 assists and sister Rachel Mann had 11 assists and six receptions.
Wayne topped Independence 2-0. Aubree Cantrell led the Patriots with nine total kills and Makenzie Denny had nine assists.

Fallon Bragg scored for the Patriots on an assist from Rumor Barnhouse, while Audra Rockness found the back of the net for the Beavers.

Bluefield – Bluefield topped Midland Trail 4-2 Thursday night in boys soccer action.
Justin Hypes scored the first goal of his career for the Patriots. Edan Maxwell added the second goal on a direct kick from the top of the box for Trail.
Patriot keeper Dakota Bennett had 25 saves. Scoring information was not available for Bluefield.

Middle School Football
Independence 64, Trap Hill 6
Independence Middle School ran past Trap Hill Middle School 64-6 Thursday at Liberty High School in the season opener for both teams.
Paxton Myers completed four of his six passes for 119 yards and four touchdowns. Myers also hit on a two-point conversion and had one rush for 24 yards.
K.J. Viars had two catches for 79 yards with both going for scores. Konner James and Zeek Nelson also had long touchdown grabs.
Landon Carroll collected 85 all-purpose yards with a rushing and receiving touchdown on the evening.
Tristan Lykins picked off two passes and took both of them to the house, while turning in 78 all-purpose and scoring a two-point conversion. Kayden Cyrus had five tackles, one for loss, to pace the Indy defensive effort.
Landon Frazier returned a fumble for a touchdown to go along with 48 all-purpose yards. Frazier also grabbed a pass for a two-point conversion.
Bam Redden added a 46-yard pass completion to the offensive attack and Cannon Push ran for 25 yards and one two-point conversion.
