WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – As gas prices across the country dip slightly, several stations in north-central West Virginia are offering some of the lowest prices in the state.
According to data from GasBuddy, five stations in the Pleasant Valley and Fairmont area are currently leading the state with competitive prices below the national average.

Here are the five cheapest gas stations in West Virginia this week:
- BP – $2.70/gallon

- Sunoco – $2.70/gallon (cash)
1135 Airport Road, Pleasant Valley, WV
- Mobil – $2.78/gallon
292 Bunner Ridge Road, Fairmont, WV
- Exxon – $2.79/gallon
147 Bunner Ridge Road, Fairmont, WV
- Clark K & T Travel Plaza – $2.79/gallon
RR 3 Box 8B Speedway, Fairmont, WV
Nationally, the average gas price is $3.09 per gallon, down 1.7 cents from last week and 37.7 centslower than a year ago. Diesel, however, has increased by 1.7 cents and now averages $3.693 per gallon.
“The national average price of gasoline slipped slightly over the last week, falling alongside oil, which dropped more than $2 per barrel,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
As oil prices remain volatile due to global economic and geopolitical pressures, some areas may continue to see price cycling and volatility.
For now, drivers in West Virginia can find some of the best savings at the pumps in Pleasant Valley and Fairmont.
