RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A fatal crash occurred on August 10, 2024, involving a tractor-trailer on I-64 Eastbound at Sandstone Mountain.
The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, along with local fire departments and EMS providers, responded to the scene at approximately 11:48 a.m.
The tractor-trailer, driven by 62-year-old Jeffrey Howard of Dublin, Ohio, entered the escape ramp before crashing and catching fire.
Tragically, Mr. Howard was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved, and there were no other occupants in the truck.
Cpl. J.M. Hensley of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the incident.
