BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A routine traffic stop for expired registration in the 200 block of Main Street on April 21, 2025, led officers to uncover suspected prostitution activity.
According to the Beckley Police Department, an officer initiated the stop after spotting a vehicle with registration that had expired since April 2020. The driver, identified as Mr. Pettry, was caught with his pants unzipped, and passenger Kylie Dufour were questioned about the stop when a K9 unit arrived. The K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle, prompting a search.
During the roadside investigation, Pettry admitted to officers that he had picked up Dufour earlier and paid her $20 to perform sexual acts. Dufour, in a separate conversation with another officer, confirmed the same details. Both statements were captured on body-worn cameras.
While no drugs were found during the vehicle search and both individuals were released at the scene, officers stated they intend to pursue warrants charging both Pettry and Dufour with first-offense solicitation of prostitution.
The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
