FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A routine traffic stop in Fayette County led to multiple felony narcotics charges after deputies reportedly discovered suspected fentanyl in a vehicle, according to Sheriff Jess McMullen.
Deputies conducted the stop on February 4, 2026, in the Victor area for a traffic violation. During the encounter, officers said the driver’s behavior raised suspicion that drugs might be inside the vehicle. Deputies then obtained consent to search.
While searching, a deputy reportedly observed the driver attempting to conceal a package believed to contain fentanyl. The package was recovered, and additional deputies were called to assist. Authorities say a further search of the passengers uncovered another package of suspected fentanyl.
Three individuals were arrested and charged in connection with the stop:
