HERNDON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A routine traffic stop in Wyoming County resulted in a drug arrest after authorities discovered cocaine and cash inside a vehicle.
According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, Corporal Zach Cook was on patrol in the Herndon area on February 12 when he stopped a blue Suzuki for crossing the center line multiple times.
Upon speaking with the driver and passenger, Cook observed both individuals displaying anxious behavior.
During the investigation, the passenger, identified as Scott Riffee, admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. A further search led to the discovery of two zip-lock bags containing cocaine.
Authorities seized approximately two ounces of cocaine, valued at about $4,900, along with $732 in cash.
A field test confirmed the substance was cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance. The drugs were sent to the West Virginia State Police Forensics Laboratory for further testing.
Riffee was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine. He was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department for processing and arraignment.
