BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A large tree has fallen across Harper Road in the 2800 block, blocking both lanes of traffic and bringing down power and telecommunications lines.
According to Beckley-Raleigh County Emergency Services, the incident has made the area impassable, and drivers are being urged to use alternate routes until the roadway can be cleared.

The road has been closed for multiple hours.
Emergency crews, including the Beckley Fire Department and Appalachian Power (AEP), are on the scene working to address the situation.
No estimated time has been given for when the road will reopen.
Appalachian Power is reporting nearly 300 outages in the Harper/Eccles area as of 9 AM Tuesday.
