POINT PLEASANT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A trick-or-treating outing turns violent after a woman answers her phone on the drive home.
On Saturday, October 26, 2024, police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Lake View Lane in Point Pleasant. According to reports, a female complainant alleged William Atwood Jr. became agitated while driving home after taking their child trick-or-treating. The dispute reportedly began when she answered a phone call, prompting Atwood to drive erratically.
The victim recounted that she attempted to exit the vehicle at a red light due to safety concerns, but Atwood allegedly restrained her, preventing her from leaving. Upon arrival at her home, she claimed Atwood threatened her boyfriend and then approached her aggressively, raising his hand as if to strike her. He allegedly warned her that she would “regret this” before fleeing, kicking up gravel as he left the property.
Atwood is charged with domestic assault, domestic battery, and unlawful restraint.
