RANDOLPH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Charges are pending against a driver who fled the scene of a rollover.
A commercial aerial lift truck was involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident on US Route 219 near Valley Head in Randolph County on Tuesday.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, the truck was traveling northbound when it veered left of center, crossed into the southbound lane, and collided with guardrails, trees, utility lines, and a fence.
The truck ultimately rolled over an embankment on the western shoulder of the road.
The driver of the vehicle managed to extricate himself from the wreck and fled the scene on foot.
Police say charges are pending.
Emergency responders from the Valley Head Volunteer Fire Department, Huttonsville/Mill Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Randolph County EMS, and the West Virginia Division of Highways were called to the scene to provide assistance.
