WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has directed West Virginia, along with 45 other states and territories, to remove all references to gender ideology from federally-funded Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) materials within 60 days.
The directive, issued through HHS’s Administration for Children and Families (ACF), follows the termination of California’s PREP grant last week after the state failed to comply with a similar demand.

Officials warn that failure to meet the requirement could result in withholding, suspension, or termination of federal PREP funding.
“Accountability is coming,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Andrew Gradison.
“Federal funds will not be used to poison the minds of the next generation or advance dangerous ideological agendas. The Trump Administration will ensure that PREP reflects the intent of Congress, not the priorities of the left.”
West Virginia is among 40 states and six territories, including Washington D.C., that received the notice.
The action highlights the Trump Administration’s ongoing effort to remove what it calls “delusional ideology” from federally-funded educational programs.
