KERR COUNTY, TX (LOOTPRESS) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that federal disaster assistance has been approved for the state of Texas to aid recovery efforts in Kerr County following severe storms, straight-line winds, and flooding that began on July 2 and are continuing.
The declaration, authorized by President Donald Trump, makes federal funding available to individuals and households in Kerr County.

President Trump made the following post to Truth Social after signing the declaration:

This assistance may include grants for temporary housing, home repairs, and low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses.
Additional programs will be available to help affected residents recover from the disaster.
Federal aid is also being offered to the state, local governments, and qualifying nonprofit organizations in Kerr County on a cost-sharing basis.
This includes support for emergency work and the repair or replacement of damaged public infrastructure.
Benjamin Abbott has been appointed as the Federal Coordinating Officer for the recovery operations.
FEMA noted that additional areas may be designated for assistance based on further damage assessments.
Governor Patrick Morrisey says that he has asked West Virginia Emergency Management officials to “stand ready to assist Texas in any way we can.”
As of Sunday afternoon, the death toll from the severe weather event has risen to 70, including 21 children.
