WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS) – President Donald Trump claimed late Sunday that preemptive pardons issued by President Joe Biden to members of the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack are invalid because they were allegedly signed with an autopen.
In a Truth Social post shared just after midnight, Trump asserted that Biden did not personally sign the pardons granted to committee members, staff, and law enforcement officers who testified before the panel.
The pardons, which also covered Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley, and several members of Biden’s family, were signed on January 19, one day before Biden left office.
Trump declared the pardons “void, vacant, and of no further force or effect” due to the alleged use of an autopen. He further claimed Biden was unaware of the pardons.
Trump warned that select committee members “should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level.”
Biden has not responded publicly to Trump’s remarks.
