(LOOTPRESS) – President-elect Donald Trump stated on Monday that the U.S. military should inform the American public about the recent drone sightings that have caused concern along the East Coast in recent weeks.
Trump addressed the matter at a press conference in Palm Beach.
“The government knows what is happening,” Trump said. “Our military knows where they took off from, they know where it came from and where it went, and for some reason, they don’t want to comment. And I think they’d be better off saying what it is our military knows and our president knows.”
“I can’t imagine it’s the enemy,” Trump stated, without going into specifics.
He also declined to comment when asked if he had received intelligence briefings on the matter.
A series of reported drone sightings, which started in New Jersey in mid-November, has recently expanded to include Ohio, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and other states.
U.S. officials stated on Saturday that most of the incidents actually involved manned aircraft and that there is no evidence of a national security threat.
