PEMBROKE, VA (LOOTPRESS) – Two people were arrested Monday morning after allegedly assaulting law enforcement officers and firefighters responding to a vehicle fire in Pembroke, according to the Giles County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. on June 1 when Giles County 9-1-1 dispatchers received a report of a vehicle fire at Tangent Outdoors in Pembroke.
Members of the Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and began efforts to extinguish the fire.
Authorities said the occupants of the vehicle began interfering with firefighting operations, prompting firefighters to request assistance from law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office identified the vehicle occupants as 44-year-old Tynisha Lenea Scott of Gallion, Alabama, and 40-year-old Robert Leon Bryan of Eureka, California. Officials said the pair was accompanied by a juvenile, who was being monitored by a bystander during the incident.
Two deputies were treated and released from Giles Community Hospital following the altercation.
Scott was charged with resisting arrest, child endangerment, three counts of assault on a firefighter, and two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer.
Bryan was charged with resisting arrest, child endangerment, three counts of assault on a firefighter, and one count of assault on a law enforcement officer.
